Nancy Smith

Currently Nancy is studying kinesiology and currently jumping through hoops in hopes of becoming an occupational therapist. Although school diverts their attention and they do not have much time taking photos, when they get the chance to do so, they find themselves exploring new places and enjoying the outdoors even more than the time before.

Jesika Gaston

Jesika Gaston is a 19 year old CSUMB student, majoring in Humanities Communication, born and raised in the Central Valley. She is a poet, but writes fictional stories as well. She loves the rain, cats, seeing people smile and hopes they can find pieces of themselves in her words.

Sara Crowell

Sara is a Freshman at CSUMB with an interest in photo-journalism. She recently found a passion for writing in a creative writing class on campus and was encouraged to share her work by a fellow class mate and friend.

Alyssa Herrera

Alyssa Herrera is a 2nd year HCOM major at CSUMB. She enjoys taking photos and exploring the Monterey area in her free time.

Kathleen Donovan

Kathleen is a senior in the Human Communications department and will be graduating at the end of this semester. She is looking forward to to what the future holds for her creative writing career.

Mark Bramble

Mark Bramble is a Creative Writing and Social Action student who is working on his first novel. He is from a small city in the Mojave desert called Victorville, and he aspires to use his work as a platform to challenge injustice using fiction.

Joshua Gibbons

Joshua Gibbons is a Cinematic Arts and Technology major at CSUMB who has a passion for imagery and telling a story through a frame. His work follows no specific structure or style to allow him the opportunity to express emotions and feelings in creative ways.

Meghan Weston

Meghan Weston is a third-year transfer student at CSUMB. She recently moved from Orange County. She is studying Human Communication with an emphasis in Peace Studies. Meghan discovered her love for poetry and the art of the spoken word from an early age while attending poetry readings with her father.

Princesa Jasmine

Princesa Jasmine is a 23 year old, born and raised in LA, CA. She is a Human Communications Major and also has a minor in Spanish. She wants ladies to remember: Men cannot "grab you by the pussy," MEN WILL RESPECT YOU- DEMAND IT!

Christian Candelaria

Christian Candelaria is a fourth year HCOM major with a concentration in Creative Writing. They like to focus their writing on being a queer person of color. He wants to publish work for those who do not see themselves in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.

Elizabeth Wiles

Elizabeth Wiles is a freshman at California State University of Monterey Bay. She has loved writing since she learned how to and has used it as an outlet to express herself for many years. She refers to writing as her solace and confusion, her pain and complex contentment spilled upon a page.

Bianca Sandoval

Bianca Sandoval is a 4th-year student, graduating this year with a Bachelors in Human Communications Major with a concentration in Creative Writing and Social Action. A Sacramento native with a love for cats, kombucha, and writing fiction. Bianca spends her spare time watching The Office and being that bitch.

Christina McCallister

Christina McCallister is a senior at CSUMB. Her major is Human Communications with a concentration in English Subject Matter and Creative Writing. She loves reading and writing young adult novels and poetry. She aspires to be a high school English teacher and published author.

Kaitlin Hardeman

Kaitlin G. Hardeman is a graduating senior, studying Human Communications with a focus in English Subject Matter Preparation. She will earn her B.A in May 2018. Her writing and research interests include topics of race, poverty and equality in Ethnic Studies and the depiction of women in Literature.

Chelsey Ripley

Born and raised in the Monterey Bay area most of her life, Chelsey has always connected with photography as a way to relax and focus her energy on what she finds beautiful. The editing process is fun for her. She is inspired by nature and the great outdoors.

Alex Jensen

Alex is a Human Communication major at CSU Monterey Bay. Growing up in Fremont, Alex developed a passion for writing in school. An Eagle Scout, gay American, and aspiring minister, Alex lives and breathes to better the world around him. He hopes to serve as a Unitarian Universalist military chaplain.

Sammy DeSilva

Sammy DeSilva is a fourth-year student at CSUMB, studying Human Communications with a concentration in Creative Writing and Social Action. She has been writing for almost ten years and is currently working on her first novel.

Cody Reeves

Cody Reeves is a senior HCOM student, who is about to graduate and still does not grasp metre.

Tessa Munson

Tessa Munson is a fourth year Human Communication student with concentrations in Pre-Law and Creative Writing and Social Action. Throughout her time in community college and CSUMB, she has developed a passion for environmentalism and hopes to pursue a career fighting for the environment and its inhabitants. Through her writing, she hopes to spark passions for environmentalism in other people as well.

Alyssa Riley

Alyssa believed that she was born to write. She saw the world in stories, and knew that she had to be the one to write them, because if she didn't, then who would? Alyssa’s biggest dream is to become a writer, but if that doesn’t happen, she’ll be okay with editing or publishing other works.

Xana Sofia Goulart

Xana Sofia was born and raised in San Jose, California by her Azores immigrant parents. They always knew she wanted to be an artist, holding onto a sketchbook constantly since the first grade. As a VPA major, it is her goal to inspire and empower others through art.

Daniel Pearson

Daniel Pearson is a fiction/non-fiction writer, and a student at CSUMB studying Communications.

Ryan Hall

Ryan Hall is a third year student at CSUMB majoring in HCOM. She likes reading and peanut butter cups.

Shirley Ramos

Shirley Ramos is an HCOM major at CSUMB with a concentration in Creative Writing and Social Action, and a minor in Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures. She self identifies as a Latinx/Chicanx poet and writer. 

Alyssa White

Alyssa White is currently a transfer student at CSUMB and she studies Human Communications with a concentration in Social Action & Creative Writing. She has been writing stories for fun since the age of eight years old and words have been her best friends ever since.

Kaitlin Drake

Kaitlin Drake is a Human Communications Major with concentrations in English Subject Matter Preparation and Women's Studies. While attending West Valley Community College, she was published in their literary magazine, Voices. She was also published in Where the Mind Dwells: Meditation, compiled by Eber and Wein.
